23 Apr The vaccine Immunization
The arrival of a vaccine will be the real moment in which we can consider that the true economic reconstruction begins.
To prevent the spread of the virus, a collective immunity or commonly called herd immunity must be achieved.
Herd immunity is achieved with different percentages of the immunized population depending on the contagion rate (R0) of each disease. At a higher rate, a higher percentage of the population should have that immunity. For example, measles needs an immune population rate of 98%, for Covid 19 the rate is 70%.
The time of the acquired immunity is unknown, but from studies with other viruses of the same family, it is estimated between 6-18 months.
